What is a Residence Card?

 

 

 

A Residence Card (在留カード) is an official ID for foreign residents in Japan.

It shows your name, address, visa status, and how long you can stay in Japan.

 

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to verify your account using your Residence Card ( and another ID that shows your My Number, such as the My Number Card).

 

 

 

 

📸 How to Take Photos of Your Residence Card

 

 

Please follow these simple rules when taking your ID photos:

 

✅ Use the real card. Don't take pictures of a screen or photocopy

 

✅ Take off any cover or holder before taking the photo

 

✅ Make sure the photo is clear and shows the full card. Don’t cut off the edges or block anything.

 

✅ No glare or reflection on the card.

4. A selfie holding your Residence Card
